My April Fashion Favourites ♥

Hi Everyone. In my last post I blogged what my favourite beauty products were during the last month of April, so leading on from that, this post focus’ on what my most favourite fashion items were during April and I’ve pictured these items below. What do you think?

My April Fashion Favourites #01

My April Fashion Favourites #02

Gold Effect Necklace

I bought this necklace recently from Dorothy Perkins, click on the following link for their website http://www.dorothyperkins.com  I love this necklace and I’ve worn it so many times lately. I’m really liking statement jewellery at the moment and in particular necklaces, although this one isn’t the most chunky of statement jewellery I find it so easy to wear and it goes with so many outfits; to dress up a simple t-shirt, cami or vest top or to compliment a lovely blouse. It can be worn for pretty much any occasion and lately I’ve been wearing it for work and during my free time. This piece is definitely one of my favourites!

My April a Fashion Favourites #03

Mint Green Sheer Blouse

I also bought this item very recently from Select Fashion, please click on the following link for their website http://www.selectfashion.co.uk  I’m a new fan of this site and have in fact bought quite a few new things from them lately. The clothing is great quality for amazingly good prices. This blouse was one of my most favourite items. As Spring is here it’s time to put a little more colour into those outfits and right now I love all the pastel shades that are around. This blouse is a lovely light mint green colour, the material is soft and sheer with a wrap effect at the front. It’s a simple item but looks smart for work with a nice pair of tailored trousers or a pencil skirt. Love this!

My April Fashion Favourites #04

Cream Lace Effect Top

This item was from New Look, their link is http://www.newlook.com  As soon as I saw this top I loved it! I really like clothing with some lace features and I thought this top had a lovely romantic, sweet look to it with the high neckline and ruffle effect sleeves. Loving the detail on this item. I’ve worn this a few times for the office with some tailored trousers but I’ve also worn it with a nice pair of jeans and some heels for an evening out, making this top quite versatile. It’s also comfortable to wear and really compliments.

My April Fashion Favourites #05

White Detailed Scarf

I actually bought this scarf when I was on holiday in Benidorm, Spain. I really liked the detailing, very girlie! It’s neutral white colour also makes it easy to wear with various outfits. I’ve been wearing it mainly with a simple t-shirt or vest top with a cardigan or blazer over, just to add a little something to the outfit. It can be worn for either work or for those evenings and weekends. This scarf is definitely a favourite accessory.

My April Fashion Favourites #06

Coral Clutch Bag

This lovely little clutch is from Primark, I was drawn to it mainly for the vibrant colour. Although I’ve called it coral it’s got more of a pinky tone to it rather than an orangey tone. I love this colour and it looks great with a little black dress to give a pop of colour to the outfit. I’ve used this clutch a few times recently for nights out and found it a great size to carry all those essentials in, it also has a hand strap which can be used for carrying if preferred. A simple and inexpensive accessory but very cute and girlie!

So, those are my fashion picks that I’ve been loving during the last month of April.

What do you think?  Would you wear/use any of these items?

Thanks for reading.  Best Wishes Lovelies.  Louise x

My April Beauty Favourites ♥ Mini Reviews

Hi Lovelies. Hope you’re all well and are enjoying the lovely weekend! Recently I had to take a little break from blogging which is why I haven’t posted in a little while but I’m back with a ‘new look’ blog and ready to start writing and posting again. As we have just reached the start of a new month, May already! it’s that time to share with you what beauty products I discovered and was loving during the last month of April, and these lovely products are pictured below.

My April Beauty Favourites #01

My April Beauty Favourites #02

Superdrug Essential Hand & Nail Cream

I bought this product from Superdrug for the very low price of £1.05 for a 75 ml tube. The product has been created for all skin types, suitable for vegetarians and has not been tested on animals! The product is very simple to use, just apply a reasonable amount to your hands and massage into hands and nails until fully absorbed. The packaging is very simple but tells all that is needed to know. The cream is white in colour and is very light, more like a lotion than a thick creamy substance therefore I found that it absorbed very quickly which is a good quality for hand cream. It has a lovely, delicate fragrance, not overpowering, it had a clean, fresh soapy smell which I found lasted for quite a while and which I loved! Although this hand cream worked well enough for me, as it is a light cream I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you have very dry hands as I don’t think this would be moisturising enough. However I would purchase this product again as I think for the price it’s a great little every day essential.

My April Beauty Favourites #03

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

So, I’m very much a newcomer to the Lush brand and have only started to buy/use some of their products during the last few months. As I had read so many other articles and blog posts and I loved the quirky look of the products I was eager to try for myself. I bought this product from my nearest Lush shop for £5.50 for a 25 g pot. The pink product is handmade with fresh ingredients, preservative free and has not been tested on animals. It comes in a little glass pot, quite simple but recognisable branding.  At first I was surprised that I had to lick the product off my lips but wow I loved this! The smell is so good, it’s called bubblegum and that is what it smells like bubblegum/candy floss and it actually tastes good! The product is made with castor sugar so it’s a great exfoliant, applied to the lips, scrub and buff then lick off the excess. I followed this by applying a lip balm or vaseline for extra softness. I’ve been using this product on a regular basis but only use a small amount each time so the product lasts and I think I’m slightly addicted now!

My April Beauty Favourites #04

Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover

I have to admit I was a little lazy when it came to removing my eye make-up and I usually just used face wipes, soap and water but when I read that this method is quite harsh to the delicate area around the eyes I decided to improve my routine and start using an eye make-up remover. I had used products by Simple before and I thought this product would be a good one to try as a starting point. I bought the product from Superdrug for around £2.00 for 125 ml. The product is a liquid made with multi-vitamins and doesn’t contain oil, artificial perfume or harsh chemicals. As the name suggests the packaging is simple but nice enough, the solution only has a slight delicate smell as no perfume has been added. I applied daily to some cotton wool and gently wiped around my eyes. I found that it wasn’t oily at all for my skin and it had a slight cooling effect, it also did a great job at removing my eye make-up which was great as I’m a daily wearer of eyeliner and mascara! For the price it does the job and I would buy this for my skin care routine again.

My April Beauty Favourites #05

E.L.F. HD Blush

I’m a huge fan of e.l.f. and now own so many lovely products from this brand. One of my most favourite products is the HD blush. I bought this product from their website http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk for a price of only £4.50 for 10 ml. All e.l.f. packaging is very simple but I think it still looks quite stylish and I really like it. The shade pictured above is ‘Headliner’ and this is my most favourite shade of the HD blush. It’s a rosey pink colour but I must say that only a very small amount of the product is needed when applying as it’s very pigmented. This is great as the product lasts for so long, I’ve been wearing this blush almost every day. It has great staying power too. Love love love this! For a more detailed review about this product please check out my product review link here http://wp.me/p3plo0-rX

My April Beauty Favourites #06

Lush Soap

During my very first visit to the Lush shop I also recently purchased a soap. I bought this product for £3.16 for a 0.102 kg bar. The soap fragrance is called Bohemian, it’s very much a lemony fragrance which I loved right away as I really like citrus smells. I used this soap in the shower on a daily basis and was so surprised at how lovely and moisturising it felt and the smell was heavenly. It gives a light lather and I felt so fresh and clean using it. Again the product is handmade with fresh ingredients and the bar really does go a long way. I adore this soap and will definitely be buying another one on my next visit into town.

So, these lovely products are my favourite picks for last month. I hope you enjoyed my little reviews.

Have you used any of the above products, if so what are your thoughts?  What are your April beauty favourites?

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone!  Until next time.  Best Wishes.  Louise x

Christmas 2013 Beauty Box Swap

Hi Lovelies. Christmas is starting to seem like it was long ago now especially as I’m well & truly back into the everyday routine. So, yes I’m a little behind with this post but better late than never as they say. Back in November last year the lovely Nyss from Miss Nyss Beauty Magpie organised a Christmas beauty box swap. I had never taken part in one of these before & it sounded fab so I really wanted to take part. Nyss paired me up with lovely Lora from Lora Loves. The idea was Lora & myself would contact each other via e-mails & get to know our individual beauty likes & dislikes etc. Each of us would then prepare a beauty box to the value of £15.00 + postage & mail in time for each of us to receive our boxes by Christmas. This was done & my box arrived a few days before Christmas. It was such a struggle to stop myself from opening it right away as I really wanted to keep it to open on Christmas Day. I somehow managed to do this though & opened my lovely box on Christmas morning…….and here it is!

Christmas 2013 Beauty Box Swap

I was so surprised & amazed at how many products I had received & was so excited as on first sight I loved everything. It was a good mix of body, face & makeup products & there was also a few other little extras in there too. Everything arrived in a lovely pink & black striped cosmetic bag which will also come in very handy. As there was so much to show you I’ve put the products into some categories.

I have already started to use some of these products & liking them very much so far, I will probably post some separate product reviews in the near future. Although I loved the look of all the products my most favourite items were; Lush Bubble Bar (I’ve never actually used any Lush products before but I’ve been dieing to try them so I was excited to get this to try, it smells absolutely amazing too!), Real Techniques Shading Brush (again I was amazed to get this, I had actually also received The Core Collection for Christmas so I was very happy to add another of these brushes to my little collection), NYC Eye Shadow Compact (this is such a cute little compact & exactly the colours I use the most often, I also love how the different shades are labelled with where to use them on the eye area) & the item I was most thrilled to see; the MakeUp Academy Shimmer Highlighter! I had mentioned to Lora that I really wanted this & had been trying for so long to get one but it was always sold out whenever I tried, so you could imagine how excited I was when I finally got one!!

I really enjoyed taking part in this beauty box swap, they’re good fun & I’d definitely love to do another one sometime. I’d just like to say a big thank you to Nyss for organising the box swap & of course huge thanks to Lora for all the lovely products & time she put into it  ♥

Please take a look at Nyss & Lora’s beauty blogs too, they’re great reads!

Beauty Haul – Bourjois ♥

Hi there lovelies. My very first beauty haul of 2014 was all about Bourjois! I already love this brand in particular for their eyeshadows which I adore as the colours are usually so intense especially when applied using a slightly damp brush, on me they wear very well & are also really long-lasting. More recently I also discovered their new bronzing primer which I immediately fell for, it’s a fabulous product which I will be reviewing soon. I was keen to build up my Bourjois collection & so I also purchased some products that I have never tried before. I can’t wait to try these & will post my thoughts in the near future.

Favourite Beauty Finds of 2013

Hi Sweeties.  It’s been such a busy time lately as I’m sure it has also been for most of you, I hope you all had an amazing Christmas & have enjoyed all the festivities!

Today I have been reflecting on some great moments I’ve experienced during 2013, one of which was starting my blog. One day back in April I decided to try my hand at blogging to chat about two of my favourite things; beauty & fashion. Back then I honestly never thought I would achieve what I have to date. I have met some lovely people most being fellow bloggers via WordPress & Twitter & I’m still amazed & so happy to have gained over 250 followers via this site & Bloglovin, so again I thank you all very much! It brings me lots of happiness reading your comments & knowing that someone out there appreciates my posts. During this time I have also discovered many fabulous beauty & fashion blogs that I love to read & follow, from this I have been introduced to some lovely new beauty products which I’m so glad to have found. So, I thought I would share with you what my most favourite beauty products are that I have found during 2013. Here they are!

Favourite Beauty Finds of 2013

BODY

There are a couple of products that have made it into my ‘favourite’ body products this year, these being:-
Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser.  A fabulous creamy, fresh, time-saving product that does make my skin feel silky smooth – this one was honestly a great surprise!
Daisy Eau So Fresh by Marc Jacobs eau de toilette spray.  A lovely fresh but delicate long-lasting fragrance, just fabulous for any time of the year.

EYES

Some amazing make-up products I have found to use on my eyes are:-
HD Brows High Definition Brows ‘Foxy’ Palette.  A great little palette with a range of shades from neutral, light brown, dark brown to very dark brown/touch of grey, which can also be used as eyeshadows as well as to define the brows.
They’re Real Mascara by Benefit.  I already love Benefit cosmetics but was dieing to try this mascara after reading so many good reviews, I was very excited when I received a mini version in a beauty box. From the very first use I could understand why the great reviews & I very much agreed, it’s one of the best mascaras I’ve tried for a long time & it really emphasises & defines my lashes without the need for any false lashes – fabulous!
Cream Eyeliner by e.l.f.  I have only recently discovered the brand e.l.f. but it has immediately become a favourite brand, the products are so inexpensive & from what I have tried so far most have been some great little finds. In particular the cream eyeliner. It comes with a little brush & the product is so easy to apply & it lasts all day/night without smudging.
Naked3 Palette by Urban Decay.  An amazing range of eyeshadow shades from very neutral, pinky tones through to various shades of browns/neutrals. This was in fact my very first ‘Naked’ palette, I decided to treat myself to this as I had read so many great reviews about the other Naked palettes, I just had to have one!

LIPS

My most favourite lip product that I have found this year is:-
Stila Lip Glaze.  The shade shown in my photo above is Grapefruit but I now have about four or five different shades that I like to switch between, I just love these, a subtle gloss that’s not sticky but lasts, they smell so yummy too & with the pen style packaging they are so easy & efficient to use.

FACE

There are a few products for my face that I have fallen for this year, these are:-
Bronzing Primer by Bourjois.  A great little bronzing product that also provides a lovely base/finish to my skin, easy to use & smells lovely too!
HD Blush by e.l.f.  The shade shown in my photo above is Headliner. This blush is a firm favourite & it’s currently my most used blush. A lovely pink shade which gives my cheeks that slightly flushed glow. Excellent value for money, although it’s hardly an expensive product as it is but only a tiny amount is needed per application so it goes a long way too.
The POREfessional by Benefit.  This is the best primer I have found to date! I use this product almost every day, it provides an amazing smooth base for the rest of my make-up & makes my skin look & feel so much better, it’s also really good for touch-ups throughout the day when needed.

So these are my favourite beauty finds for 2013, I have already reviewed some of these products in more detail & if you would like to read more about them then please click on my links below. Any that I haven’t reviewed I will be doing so in the near future.
